Born Again

Born Again?

Romans 3:23 tells us that we all are sinner, that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” The good news is that we have a sovereign God who extends immeasurable grace and mercy to those who believe and receive Him as the Lord of their life. Being born again means that you are no longer living as slaves of the world, but you are born into a life of freedom and adoption as sons and children of God (ref Galatians 4, Romans 8:14-17). To become a born again believer and receive access to the mercies, grace and fullness of God, you must repent for your sins, believe that Jesus died for your sins, and confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of your life.

Jesus says in John 3:3, “…unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God,” and further explains in John 14:6 that “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.”

REPENT

Ask for forgiveness of all of your sin. We need to turn from our lifestyle of sin and separation from God.

“The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news” – Mark 1:15

“...God commands all people everywhere to repent” – Acts 17:30

“But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally” – Luke 13:5

BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and that He shed His blood so we could be forgiven. Jesus carried all of our sins on the cross, rose again from the dead and is alive today.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” – Romans 10:9-10

CONFESS

Confess that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. God is our father and we have become His children.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” – John 1:12

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” – Romans 10:13

We are eternal beings who will live forever in either heaven or hell. It is a frightening thought to be separated from God. If you would like to make Jesus the Lord of your life so you can spend eternity in heaven and be forgiven from all of your sins, pray this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. Lord I ask you to forgive me of all of
my sins and come live inside of me. I believe that you are the Son of God,
that you shed your blood, died on the cross, rose from the dead and are alive
today so that I can be forgiven. Thank you for saving me.
 In Jesus name, Amen.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
